Bringing an Old Bible Story Back to Life With a Modern Interpretation

Growing up in the Catholic church and recalling my years in the privately owned Catholic school that I was sent to, homosexuality was never discussed except in whispers. God condemns it, or so I was “taught”, and there is something seriously wrong with people who have non-heterosexual self-identities. Those who disagree, or who carry on just because they don’t believe there is a God, a heaven and a hell will wind up in hell for eternity. Ignore God and He will ignore you. Period, end of story. You might say that my childhood church community’s approach to the taboo topic of homosexuality was riddled with self-serving double standards and much condemnation.
