When we left off last week at verse 14, the apostle Paul was exhorting and encouraging the Ephesian church to remain as “the light in the Lord”, and to live as “children of light”. Today we will finish up the latter half of the book of Ephesians chapter five, where we find Paul continuing to elaborate on the meaning and intent of his writing and teaching. So let’s take up where we left off, beginning at verse 15.
Part One of This Week’s Bible Verses for Study and Memorization
“Be very careful, then, how you live — not as unwise but as wise, making the most of every opportunity, because the days are evil. Therefore do not be foolish, but understand what the Lord’s will is. Do not get drunk on wine, which leads to debauchery. Instead, be filled with the Spirit. Speak to one another with psalms, hymns, and spiritual songs. Sing and make music in your heart to the Lord, always giving thanks to God the Father for everything, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ. Submit to one another out of reverence for Christ.” (Ephesians chapter 5, verses 15–21)
