I came across the following article this past week about the true state of the US labor market that surprised me. Then again, I really wasn’t very surprised at all. It centers around a shocked and dismayed worker getting fired only days after announcing his retirement. Yes, it can and does happen a lot. I once knew a supervisor who got fired within months of her retirement, and she had no recourse. That was here in Atlanta, Ga. where I live, and where I worked for over 40 years.
